The school of bonsai; does a bonsai school exist? Yes, hundreds do. There is not a degree you get in bonsai. You could get a degree in botany, maybe specializing in bonsai horticulture. However, for the most part the highest recognition is to be considered by your peers in the industry and bonsai community as a "Bonsai Master." Therefore, you want to be a bonsai master is training, well, where do you start? We have a hint, start learning how to use bonsai tools very well. Since the early history of bonsai, there have been people called the "literati" that shared the secrets, critiques, and tricks as a group. These people pretty invented the bonsai tools we use today and taught the way to use them. Since its beginning, many schools, clubs, associations, and societies have formed to teach, learn, create, and exchange ideas and experiences about the different trees, styles, techniques, bonsai pots, bonsai soils, and bonsai tools.
Passing of a bonsai tree and a set of bonsai tools is a great honor. Most people leave bonsai trees and bonsai tools behind to their relatives or children. However, it is extremely common that if these family members aren't enthusiasts themselves, or understand how to maintain them. Great trees are often left to other hobbyists, or museums and clubs.

One of the most influential bonsai clubs on an International scale is Bonsai Clubs International. Organizers of the most global annual bonsai shows for the world.

National Bonsai and Penjing Museum

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) made a national recognition to Bonsai and Penjing. This public museum and bonsai organization displays bonsai found throughout the world and that were donated by a variety of countries and famous master artists. This museum is support by The National Bonsai Foundation.

The American Bonsai Society

A United States of America bonsai society dedicated to spreading the culture throughout the States. This American society forms many chapters on local and state levels. Also famous for publishing a vast amount on information about bonsai tools through articles and magazines.
